Case 1
Upgraded operating systems for the server-based IT infrastructure and implemented anti-virus and network management solutions in order to support expansion of the infrastructure and the client's ability to monitor and maintain it. As a result of the project, the client gained significant new insight into its IT operation and its ability to provide service to the user community, reduced its operational risk, and ensured compliance to vendor recommendations to support business applications.

The project included the development of technical manuals and training delivery to promote proficiency and auto-sufficiency of the client's technical staff.

Case 2
Performed a security assessment for the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems deployed to monitor and control electric power generation, transmission, and distribution processes. The assessment focused on reviewing currently implemented administrative, physical, and technical safeguards in the SCADA system.

As part of the project, Trinexus identified a number of security vulnerabilities that threaten PREPA's ability to control the island electric power grid. The final deliverable included a number of recommendation to improve security risk management and ensure the availability of SCADA systems, maintain integrity in monitoring data storage and transmission, while protecting the confidentiality of all monitoring data.

As a result, PREPA has been able to reduce the probability of security risk exposures. Subsequently, Trinexus has been involved in the implementation of a subset of the recommendations arising from the final deliverable.

Implemented a Business Process Management (BPM) solution to automate and streamline the processing of purchase requisitions, budget requests for contracts, and duly approved employee expense cash advances. The project included characterization of current paper-based processes, performing process simulations, and recommending process improvements based on the potential of the technology to be implemented. Once processes to be implemented were documented and approved, the were configured in the BPM tool, tested, and implemented.

As a result of the project, individual departments gained the ability to control their internal processes much more effectively and efficiently. The project included training and support for the solution in order to promote knowledge transfer and maximize the benefits derived from the project.

For the Public Buildings Authority, managed a procurement process to identify an Energy Services Company (ESCO) that could perform an energy audit of the public corporation's facilities, make energy saving recommendations and subsequently enter into an Energy Performance Contract (EPC).

Trinexus became involved in the earliest stages of the process, analyzing the role of the energy saving in the public corporation's strategy, educating senior management about EPC's, establishing a project scope that provided significant results with reduced risk, and mobilizing other local and federal agencies whose involvement was required as part of the project. Trinexus developed the request for proposal (RFP) document for the project and assisted the client in selecting an ESCO and negotiating a contract for an investment grade energy audit. The ESCO is currently negotiating an EPC with the public corporation.

The result was  the development of a self-financing project that allowed the public corporation to address deferred maintenance of its facilities, reduce long term energy consumption, and upgrade environmental quality to occupants of its facilities.
